Summer!

I hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and FUN summer!

End of the Year

Tuesday, May 17th is our Field Trip to the Amana Colonies.  Students and chaperones will need a sack lunch (not in a cooler of any kind) and a drink - I will have one cooler for drinks only. 
Chaperones - Please be to school by 8:30. I am looking forward to a fun day!


Kids Fest in Central Park: May 13th from 4:30-7:30.

Final PTG meeting of the year Monday, May 16th. Come to vote in new officers!

STAR Party will be Friday, May 20th. More details to come soon!

Last Day May 24th with a 2:20 dismissal.

April Information

*We are starting a Box Tops competition Monday so clip those Box Tops and send them in!

* I received 9 notes with parents interested in chaperoning our field trip. Our 4th grade team will decide soon how many we are able to take and I will contact you as to whether or not you are able to chaperone.
*Bakery Orders for the field trip are due May 6 - you must send the order form in WITH MONEY by that date or your order will not be placed. You do not have to order anything!

Weekly Information

Early Dismissals - April 13 and 27.

Iowa Assessments will be April 11-15. We begin testing each day at 8:45. A snack is served each morning. It is very important that kids are on time to school this week so that they are prepared and ready to do their best on the tests! If you have a calculator at home, please send it on Monday - kids can use them on the Tuesday math tests. If you don't have one, we will do our best to find enough at school. Thanks!

Family Fun Night: Thursday, April 14th from 5:30-7:00. A note went home and we would like you to return the bottom section with number of people attending so we can plan for a small meal.

There will be a Lincoln PTG meeting on Monday, April 18th at 5:30 in the Lincoln Media Center. We will be taking nominations for positions for next year. There are lots of opportunities to be part of your child's education and this is one way to become involved.

March News

Remember tomorrow is VIP Day! Guests are welcome to come as long or little as you would like. Please check in when you come tomorrow so we are able to keep track of guests.

The Book Fair is tomorrow as well. VIPs are able to purchase books and kids can also bring money to buy books if they would like. Our class goes to the fair at 2:45 tomorrow - if you won't be here at that time, I will find time for kids and their VIP to go while they are here.

Lunch is at 11:30. Those eating out need to be back by 12:15. Those eating here get Pizza Ranch pizza!

Monday, March 21 - Lincoln PTG meeting at 7 PM. Please come if you are interested in getting more involved at Lincoln. We are always looking for new ideas!

Thursday, March 24-Monday, March 28 - No School for kids. Happy Easter!

Ms. Mahr, our student teacher, is doing a fantastic job! She has taken over teaching LARS this week. After Easter, she will be taking over all subjects. I will be in and out of the room during the day. We will plan together for lessons and I am very confident in her teaching!

Information

* I have not received very many VIP forms yet - we need them by March 11 in order to get a correct lunch count. We order pizza from Pizza Ranch for those eating here and we have to get them numbers  a week in advance. A green VIP form went home as well as the last page of the orange Lincoln newsletter this week. 

* GUM DAY Friday March 4th for $1. Money goes to field trips we attend this year. 

* Beginning Monday, we will have a student teacher from Iowa Wesleyan college. Her name is Lexa Mahr and she will be working with us for 8 weeks. You will be hearing more about her soon!
