Fabulous Feats Feast

Here are our first students to receive a Fabulous Feats Feast award for earning the most Outstanding days so far this year! Thanks for being Responsible, Respectful, and Safe!

Weekly Happenings

Bike a Thon - September 25 - Send in fundraiser packets! Please make sure that kids either ride bikes home or that they are picked up from Lincoln before 5:30 on Friday. We don't have room to store them in the school. We are excited for this event!

Early Out Sept. 30th at 1:10.

Gum Day Oct. 2 - pay $1 to chew gum. Money goes to our PTG for Lincoln events.

Get ready for Homecoming Week!
Monday: mustache day
Tuesday: class color day (we will vote on a color)
Wednesday: Dress as hero day (firefighter, police, military)
Thursday: PJ Day
Friday: Demon Spirit Day

We have a 1:10 dismissal for Homecoming on Oct. 9th. 

Grading

This year, we are transitioning to standards based report cards. We feel this will give teachers, parents, and students a better idea of where students are academically. Instead of letter grades, students will receive a 1, 2, or 3 (as they have at Stewart and 3rd grade). A 3 means showing proficiency in what we scored. We have certain standards chosen and will score tests and work under those standards. Because I want to be able to show you how I scored your child, I will be keeping the tests and work that are scored under one of the standards. Each student in my room will have a file of this work. I will show the work to students and will then collect it and share it with you at conferences. Please be patient with me as this is a learning process for us! I believe if you check grades in PowerSchool, you should be able to see the scores that I have entered. There should be a few in there already! Please ask me if you have questions - I would be glad to find out answers if I don't know!

Weekly Information

I can't believe we are beginning our 5th week of school! This week we will begin small reading groups and also will be having a 30 minute intervention time each day. Students will be going to a variety of teachers during these 2 times to work on skills in reading and math with others that need the same practice. We are very fortunate at our school to have this time built into our schedule this year!

Tuesday, Sept. 22: Lincoln PTG meeting at 7:00 in the Lincoln Media Center - feel free to come and be a part of helping out our school!

Thursday, Sept. 24: Drop off bikes for Bike A Thon between 3:30-4:30 or 6:00-7:00 at Lincoln.

Friday, Sept. 25: Make sure kids have their bike at school, if they plan to ride! Please return fundraising packets on this day.

BIKE A THON FROM 1:00-3:00 AROUND LINCOLN! I hope the weather is better than last week!

Info to Know

* Please make sure students are trying to get some donations for our upcoming Bike-a-Thon. If we raise enough, this will be our only fundraiser! The Bike-a-Thon is on Friday, Sept. 18th from 1-3. Please read the note carefully about getting bikes to school.

***Assembly for the Bike-a-Thon and fundraiser. Packets will go home Friday the 4th so please read through it carefully - lots of changes this year! We will bike from 1-3 on Friday, Sept 18. Let's raise lots of money so this can be our only fund raiser!

I am so proud of how the students are following procedures and trying their hardest on testing and work. I look forward to a great year!
